Personal Minimums per Airport

Home field and a hard strip are not the same standard. Set ceiling, visibility, and crosswind per airport so the briefing scores that field honestly. Help at app.planewx.ai/help/personal-minimums.

St. Petersburg, Florida — August 16, 2026 — PlaneWX now supports personal minimums per airport. The briefing uses that airport’s mins when a row exists, not only a single global set.

One global set is a compromise. Set it to the easy home field and a mountain strip, coastal field, or short one-way runway scores too generously. Set it to the hard field and every routine home trip looks like a no-go. Night into an unfamiliar Class B is not the same risk as a daylight pattern at home. A short runway with a higher personal bar deserves its own numbers.

What you can set per airport: ceiling (VFR and IFR, comfort/soft and max/hard), visibility (VFR and IFR, comfort/soft and max/hard), and crosswind (comfort/soft and max/hard). Turbulence and icing stay global. Storm avoidance stays global. Leave a field blank and it inherits your global or aircraft limit. Cap is 25 airports. Find it under Profile → Minimums → Airport-specific minimums. When a briefing scores departure or arrival weather and a row exists for that airport, those mins apply.

The in-app guide is at app.planewx.ai/help/personal-minimums.

About PlaneWX

PlaneWX is the pilot’s decision support system, founded in 2025 by Mark Wolfgang, a Navy veteran and commercial instrument-rated pilot. Its WX Score synthesizes authoritative weather data against each pilot’s specific aircraft and personal minimums, feeds an integrated flight risk assessment built on the FAA’s PAVE framework, and connects pilots to a peer mentor network — so go/no-go planning can start up to 14 days out, not the night before. Tagline: The confidence to go, or the courage to stay™.
